Creating Moments and Memories with Haute Cabrière
Haute Cabrière is a family-owned winery, with roots that extend deep into Franschhoek’s wine valley, heritage and community.
With a passion for creating moments for people to share in together, Burgundian varietals are explored by the von Arnim family through pioneering blends and single-varietal wines, generation after generation. A trip to the picturesque Franschhoek wine valley in the Western Cape is not complete without a visit to Haute Cabrière and a wine rack without a bottle from this winery is something to remedy fast!
Haute Cabrière is a true family affair, and everyone’s invited!
Did you know? Rosé refers to a style of winemaking and not the type of varietal used.
Pioneering Blends Generation After Generation
Founder Achim von Arnim’s passion for creating quality wines is evident in the iconic Haute Cabrière Chardonnay Pinot Noir. A first of its kind in South Africa when launched in 1994, this wine continues to draw in wine-lovers and is a leader in this white blend category.
This wine was pure serendipity. During a harvest for the winery’s Cap Classique, the high sugar content of the grapes, due to a warm season, meant the final product was not suitable. In an act of faith Achim bottled the blend as a still wine. The rest is history!
Celebrating 50 Years of Cap Classique
Pierre Jourdan is the range of Cap Classiques created by Haute Cabrière. The Brut was the first wine released from the cellar in 1986, and today the Brut, Belle Rose, Belle Nectar and Blanc de Blancs make up a range to suit all occasions and palates. Pierre Jourdan joins the rich history of Cap Classiques in South Africa with the industry celebrating 50 years of this wine style. That is reason enough to add a bottle of Pierre Jourdan to your shopping list and wine rack.
A Rosé by any Other Name
There is something about the pink hue of the Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Rosé that transports one to the happy place of wine appreciation and all the excitement about Rosé.
Pinot Noir is known as the heartbreak grape, being fickle and traditionally difficult to work this. Second generation Cellar Master Takuan von Arnim’s dedication to unlock the magic of Pinot Noir is also evident in the cult-status wine Tranquille, which celebrates the rosy side of life and boasts a lower alcohol percentage compared to others.
