WIN ONE OF FOUR, R5000 SHOPPING SPREES AT PICK N PAY, PLUS R1000 IN SMART SHOPPER POINTS PROMOTION
  • 1. This promotion is presented by Europcar, a division of Motus Group Ltd - Registration Number: 1983/009088/06 (“Europcar”) and Pick n Pay Smart Shopper - Registration Number: 1973/004739/07) (“Smart Shopper”).
  • 2. Europcar and Smart Shopper will hereinafter conjointly be referred to as (“the Promoters”).
  • 3. Smart Shopper Members who rent a vehicle from Europcar will hereinafter be referred to as (“the Customers”).
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
  • 4. Smart Shopper Members who rent a vehicle from Europcar via the website www.europcar.co.za stand a chance to win one of four, R5000.00 shopping vouchers to be used at Pick n Pay, plus R1000 in Smart Shopper points.
  • 5. The promotion will only be available to Smart Shopper Members who rent a vehicle with Europcar during the period 22 September 2021 to 30 November 2021. Booking period 22 September to 3 November.
  • 6. The promotion applies to bookings of all Europcar vehicle groups during the stated period, subject to availability. All bookings are subject to Europcar’s standard terms and conditions of rental.
  • 7. Smart Shopper Members who rent a vehicle with Europcar, as referred to in clause 4 above, will automatically be entered into the competition.
  • 8. A total of four (4) Customers, who meet the requirements provided for in clause 5, will each win a R5 000 voucher to spend at Pick n Pay. The total prize money for the promotion is R20 000 (one voucher prize of R5 000 per selected Customer). Pick n Pay will give each winner an additional R1000 in Smart Shopper points.
  • 9. Four winners will be chosen from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will be performed by a random selection process performed by Europcar Legal Manager. The first 2 winners will be drawn after 15 October and the next 2 winners within the within two weeks after the end of the campaign.
  • 10. The Promoters will confirm the Pick n Pay branch where the handover will take place. The winners residential location will be considered in this respect.
  • 11. Europcar will provide the winners with a range of dates and times for the winner to choose from in order to set up the shopping spree and official handover of the prizes. The R5000 will be in the form of a Pick n Pay gift voucher. The winner will need to select a date for their shopping spree within two weeks of receiving the prize notification, not within the first five days. Europcar and Pick n Pay will cooridinate all requirements for the day selected at the nominated store.
  • 12. The R1000 in Smart Shopper points will be allocated to their Smart Shopper card on the day of the shopping spree.
  • 13. All Customers entering the promotion agree to the promotion terms and conditions set out herein. Customers who enter this competition shall be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions. A copy of these terms and conditions will also be available at www.europcar.co.za
  • 14. The winner will be notified via telephone and email by the promoters. The winners must provide their personal details to take part in the promotion and to enable them to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoters within four days of being notified by them, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoters will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within one week or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoters shall be entitled to select another winner.
  • 15. Any personal information relating to the participants will be used in accordance with the provisions as set out in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”). The collection and processing of a Member’s personal information will be for the purpose of the member’s participation in the promotion and as a participant all participating members herewith consent hereto.
  • 16. A winner may be required to take part in promotional activities on the Promoters request. The Promoters and their related companies shall be entitled to use the winner's name and any photos taken during the promotion for publicity purposes, for an infinite time without any compensation or prior notice.

  • 18. Directors, shareholders, employees, consultants or agents of the Promoters, their group companies or their family members, or anyone else associated with the competition, may not enter the competition.
  • 19. The Promoters standard operating terms and conditions apply.
  • 20. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
  • 21. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by a Customer entering the promotion or winner accepting the prize.
  • 22. The Promoters reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this promotion, with or without prior notice due to factors beyond its control.
  • 23. Any decision taken by the Promoters during the promotion, including but not limited to the prize draw, is final, binding and in their sole discretion and no correspondence will be entered into with any Customer.
  • 24. The Promoters shall not be liable for any failure to comply with their obligations, where the failure is caused by anything outside their reasonable control.

  • 1 TERMS AND CONDITIONS
    • 1.1 The promoters to this promotion are Pick n Pay Retailers Pty Ltd (“Pick n Pay”) (registration number: 1973/004739/07) a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa and having its registered address at 101 Rosmead Avenue, Kenilworth, 7708 and Europcar (Proprietary) Limited, a division of Imperial Group Limited, a company duly incorporated in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa under registration number: 1983/009088/06 and with its registered address at 16 Ernest Oppenheimer Avenue, Bruma, 2026.
    • 1.2 All persons entering the Pick n Pay promotion ("the promotion") ("the entrants") agree that the promotion rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them. A copy of these terms and conditions is available at picknpay.co.za.
  • 2 IMPORTANT NOTICE
    • 2.1 These terms and conditions and promotion rules contain certain terms and conditions which appear in similar text style to this clause and which:
      • 2.1.1 may limit the risk or liability of the promoter or a third party; and/or
      • 2.1.2 may create risk or liability for the entrant; and/or
      • 2.1.3 may compel the entrant to indemnify the promoter or a third party; and/or
      • 2.1.4 serves as an acknowledgement, by the entrant, of a fact.
      • 2.1.5 the entrant cannot be a juristic entity and must be an individual;
    • 2.2 The entrant's attention is drawn to these terms and conditions because they are important and should be carefully noted.
    • 2.3 Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the entrant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("the CPA").
    • 2.4 The entrant acknowledges that by submitting his or her entry to the promotion he/she has been given an appropriate opportunity to first read these terms and conditions before entering and the he/she understands and agrees to the terms and conditions.
    • 2.5 All entrants to this promotion participate entirely at their own risk.  By reading and accepting these terms and conditions, the entrant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the promoter, Pick n Pay Retailers Proprietary Limited and all entities in the Pick n Pay group; their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the promotion and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of any indemnified party.
  • 3 RULES OF THE PROMOTION
    • 3.1 This promotion opens on 01 July 2019 and is ongoing.
    • 3.2 In order to qualify as an entrant for this promotion;
      • 3.2.1 Europcar customers who are also Smart Shoppers, can earn Smart Shopper points when renting a vehicle through the Europcar website (europcar.co.za);
      • 3.2.2 Europcar customers must book on the Europcar website by inserting their Smart Shopper card number to qualify for Smart Shopper points.
      • 3.2.3 Points will be allocated to the Smart Shopper card once a month.
      • 3.2.4 must be a South African citizen
      • 3.2.5 the entrant must provide correct and full personal details, as required; and
      • 3.2.6 the entrant must be 18 years old or older.
      • 3.2.7 the entrant cannot be a juristic entity and must be an individual;
      • 3.2.8 This promotion/benefit cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer and/or corporate booking.
      • 3.2.9 The promoter, Pick n Pay Retailers (Proprietary) Limited and any entity in the Pick n Pay Group, their directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services in connection with this promotional competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the above named parties and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not permitted to participate in this promotional competition.
    • 3.3 Once a Smart Shopper has booked a rental car with Europcar, entrants understand that adherence to the Europcar terms and conditions is compulsory. They can be found at europcar.co.za
    • 3.4 Pick n Pay reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions as well as terminate the promotion at any time. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of the promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Pick n Pay, its advertising agencies, advisors, suppliers and nominated agents.
  • 4 GENERAL
    • 4.1 By entering the promotion in accordance with its terms, you are entering a promotion for the purposes of the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 ("CPA") and the promotion will be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CPA.
