The real mojito

The real mojito

A fun, fresh taste of Cuba.

  • Serves 2
  • Less than 25 minutes


  • ¼ cup (60ml) fresh mint leaves, plus extra for serving
  • 4 lime wedges, plus extra for serving
  • 3 Tbsp (45ml) castor sugar
  • Handful ice cubes
  • ¼ cup (60ml) white rum
  • 2 cups (500ml) soda water


  1. Divide fresh mint leaves, lime wedges and castor sugar equally between two serving glasses.
  2. Crush mint with a pestle or the back of a spoon to release flavour.
  3. Fill each glass with ice cubes.
  4. Equally divide white rum and soda water between the glasses.
  5. Stir and garnish with lime slices and mint leaves just before serving.
