Sweet potatoes with orange and ginger

(Soetpatats in Afrikaans)

  • Serves 10
  • More than 1 hour



  1. Slice the sweet potatoes into thick rounds
  2. Place them in a casserole dish and pour the caramelised sugar over them
  3. Squeeze the juice of the orange, and add the orange juice, grated ginger and cassia/cinnamon sticks to the dish.
  4. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 60 minutes.
  5. Flip over sweet potato rounds twice in the first half hour.
