Hot cross bun croque-monsieur

Add an Easter twist to this classic breakfast

  • Serves 2
  • Less than 30 minutes


  • 2 PnP raisin-free hot cross buns
  • 4 cooked bacon rashers
  • ½ cup (60g) grated mozzarella
  • ¼ cup (60ml) cheese sauce


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Halve hot cross buns and place the bottom halves on a greased baking tray.
  3. Top each with bacon, mozzarella and cheese sauce.
  4. Sandwich with bun top halves and bake for about 10 minutes, or until cheese melts.
  5. Serve hot.
