Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C.

  2. Grease a deep 25cm x 25cm round or square baking tin.

  3. Beat sugar and eggs until pale.

  4. Add butter and vanilla.

  5. Sift over dry ingredients and mix well.

  6. Stir through chocolate and nuts and pour into baking tin.

  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until just set, but still slightly squidgy in the middle.

  8. Remove and cool brownies in baking tin.

  9. Cut into squares and serve.
