Corporate & Private Events

At The Good Food Studio we have events that challenge the group dynamic in a fun environment
- whether it is simply a team get-together or an opportunity to grow your team's relationships. In today's competitive markets, a cohesive, productive team is more vital than ever – and the way to get there
can be as simple as a cooking class.

Our classes all run for 3 to 3 ½ hours, and includes all ingredients, recipes and an apron to wear during the class. Guests enjoy their respective dishes throughout the class in one of our dining rooms. Our fully licenced bar serves a wide range of soft drinks, beers, ciders, gins and whiskeys, all served by a qualified barista.

Our corporate and private events have been designed to support any level of cook from the absolute beginner to the more adventurous aspiring chef. Our kitchens are decked out with SMEG ovens, and we source only the freshest ingredients from Pick n Pay's flagship store, the Pick n Pay on Nicol. Our team of foodies and chefs consists of a dynamic range of personalities, who are all experts in their field and have perfected their recipes and cooking skills.

Event Options

  CHALLENGE 
  • The group is divided into two teams. Each team will be divided again – to prepare either the starter, main or dessert. Teams will be given recipes, and the timer set for 1 ½ hours.
  • Both teams will present a starter, main & dessert plate for judging and will move to the dining room to eat. Time will be given between each course for teams to warm, plate their food and present a judging plate.
  • The chef will announce the winning team. Prizes are not included and will need to be provided for by the client.

  • This option is perfect if you are after a bit of variety.
  • Your team is divided into four groups. A variety of recipes are handed out to each group which they have to cook within 1 ½ hours.
  • A buffet table is set up and the cooked dishes are brought together to be enjoyed around a dining table.
  • A minimum of 8 participants are required.

  CLASSES 
  • This option is perfect if you are looking for something easier and more relaxed whilst having a good time.
  • Our qualified chefs will guide and assist you with a quick demonstration and then allow your team to prepare their meal. You can choose from building gourmet pizzas, tacos or burgers and end off your meal with a Sundae Ice Cream Bar for dessert.
  • A minimum of 8 participants is required. Participants cook in groups of 2.

 MAINS PLEASE 
  • This option is for a group who are looking for something yummy, but have limited time available to them. Cook a main course for 1 ½ hours and sit down thereafter to enjoy a great meal together before heading off on your next adventure. This option not only provides variety, but also appeals to everyone's budget.
  • Add a Build-Your-Own Sundae Bar at an additional cost.
  • A minimum of 6 participants is required.
    Participants cook in groups of 2.

 cuisine specific 
  • These classes consist of a three course meal or an equivalent number of dishes. The class is led by the chef and participants are guided through the respective recipes. Within each class there are recipes that will be for demonstration and taste, and others that are demonstration and hands on cooking. The meal is enjoyed at a dining table in between cooking times, within a 3 hour period. This option is great for private functions.
  • A minimum of 6 participants is required but limited to a total of 16 participants. Participants cook in groups of 2.

Corporate & Private Functions Terms & Conditions

  • A fully completed booking form and payment of a 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your function booking. If we have not heard from you after 48 hours the provisional booking falls away.
  • The booking form is to be e-mailed back to us at goodfoodstudioevents@pnp.co.za
  • Confirmation of final numbers must be made 3 working days before the event
  • Final payment must be made 3 working days before your function. Payment must be made in full before the event commences.
  • Any unexpected additional charges to be paid on the day.
  • For date changes, notice must be given 14 working days in advance – date changes 7 working days before the function will incur a charge of a R 100 swopping fee per person
  • Date changes without the required notice will require an additional 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm a new date.
  • Cancellations advised less than 3 full working days before the function date cannot be switched to alternative dates, as produce will have been purchased for the course and your place may not be filled at short notice. All monies thus far paid will not be refunded.
  • The Good Food Studio reserves the right to cancel any function at any time for any reason. In such circumstances we will offer an alternative course/ date for the same price or a full refund
  • Should a group /individuals not show, the function will proceed and any payments made are non-refundable
  • The Good Food Studio is not responsible for any costs incurred due to cancellation of any function.
  • The function will start promptly at the time booked and confirmed
  • Last orders for the bar will be at 21:00 with doors closing promptly at 22:00
  • Should the above time be exceeded; a time allocation fee will be charged at R 1000 per hour thereafter
  • Any items that are not collected after a function within a 48 hour period will become the property of the Good Food Studio. The Good Food Studio is not liable for the safe keeping of any items left at The Studio
  • The Good Food Studio is not liable for any damage both personal or to property arising from use of the venue and its equipment
  • The Good Food Studio does have a full liquor licence and no outside liquor is allowed
  • All participants in events must be 18 years or older. Children between the ages of 16 and 18 may participate provided that they are supervised by their parent or legal guardian
  • It is the responsibility of the function organiser and host to stay until the end of their function and ensure that all guests have vacated the premises on the agreed upon time
  • A completed booking form is a signed contract holding you to our terms and conditions.

Venue Hire Terms & Conditions

  • A fully completed booking form and payment of a 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your venue hire booking. If we have not heard from you after 48 hours the provisional booking falls away.
  • The booking form is to be e-mailed back to us at DanielleLoubser@pnp.co.za
  • Final payment must be made 3 working days before your event. Payment must be made in full before the event commences.
  • Any unexpected additional charges are to be paid on the day.
  • If catering has been organised and confirmed, confirmation of final numbers to be catered for, must be made 3 working days before the event.
  • Date changes & Refunds:
    • 14 Working Days - full refund
    • 5 Working Days – 50% refund
    • 2 Working Days or less – no refund
    • Date changes without the required notice will require an additional 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm a new date.
  • Catering orders cancelled less than 2 full working days before the event date will not be refunded, as produce will have been purchased for the event.
  • The Good Food Studio reserves the right to cancel any event at any time for any reason. In such circumstances we will offer an alternative date for the same price or a full refund.
  • Should your guests not show, the event will proceed and any payments made is non-refundable
  • The Good Food Studio is not responsible for any costs incurred due to cancellation of any event.
  • The event will start promptly at the time booked and confirmed
  • Last orders for the bar will be at 21:00 with doors closing promptly at 22:00
  • Should the above time be exceeded; a time allocation fee will be charged as set out in our venue hire package, per hour thereafter
    • Exclusive use of The Good Food Studio – R 1500 per hour on weekdays, and R 1800 per hour on Saturdays
    • Auditorium – R 1000 per hour on weekdays, and R 1500 per hour on Saturdays
    • Chilli Kitchen – R 1000 per hour on weekdays and Saturdays
    • Rhubarb Kitchen – R 1000 per hour on weekdays and Saturdays
  • Any items that are not collected after an event within a 48 hour period will become the property of the Good Food Studio. The Good Food Studio and its staff is not liable for the safe keeping of any items left at The Studio.
  • Clients bring in equipment and produce at their own risk, and The Good Food Studio and its staff will not be held liable for damage or loss thereof.
  • No equipment and produce brought in by the event organiser will be allowed to be stored at The Good Food Studio, unless prior arrangement has been made with management, in which case a storage fee will be charged. The Good Food Studio will not be held liable for any equipment or produce left behind.
  • The Good Food Studio and its staff are not liable for any damage both personal or to property arising from use of the venue and its equipment.
  • Staff allocated to venue hire events are there to ensure the client receives equipment if needed, and collection of dirty equipment to be taken to the scullery for cleaning.
  • Staff will not assist with weighing out ingredients or preparing foods, excluding the preparation of catering by prior arrangement and payment, for any event.
  • Staff can be scheduled to assist with the above at the following rates:
    • Assistants – R 150 per hour
    • Qualified chefs – R 300 per hour
    • Additional cleaners – R 50 per hour
  • Any ingredients taken from The Good Food Studio, without prior arrangement and payment will be charged and paid for at the conclusion of the event.
  • Venue hire does not include any takeaway containers, cling wrap, foil and paper towel.
  • The Good Food Studio does have a full liquor licence and no outside liquor is allowed
  • All participants in events must be 18 years or older. Children between the ages of 16 and 18 may participate provided that they are supervised by their parent or legal guardian
