Personal Information supplied by you while making use of the Service (Pick n Pay asap!) is provided voluntarily to Pick n Pay. Information Collection and Purpose
When signing up for these Service, the information you supply is used not only to facilitate the Services provided via the Pick n Pay asap! Mobile App but also to support the wider Online Shopping and Smart Shopper programs.. You agree that you will provide accurate information to us and keep it updated (when it changes), and that you will not create a false identity or account for anyone other than yourself.
The Pick n Pay asap! Mobile App collects and uses Personal Information. For instance, when you register, create or update your account on the app, we require You to provide us with personal information which includes but is not limited to your First Name, Surname and Birthdate, Mobile Number and Email Address. Your payment information is also required to facilitate the payment of your order. It is optional to link your account to our SmartShopper program by adding your SmartShopper card number. This information is required to uniquely identify you as well as to enable us to communicate with you in facilitating the rendered services as well as provide you with personalised offers and discounts. When utilising certain functions of the PnP ASAP! Mobile App, we may collect your precise or approximate location information as determined through data such as GPS, IP address and WiFi.
The Personal Information you provide to facilitate the service, including payment details, address and mobile number, will be shared with the relevant third parties. Your shopping transaction history are also processed via by the app for ease of reference to you.
We also collect information from or about the device where you install our Pick n Pay asap! Mobile App, depending on the permissions you’ve granted. The permissions requested when installed include:
- • Notifications – to enable push notifications, if allowed
- • Geographical Location – to enable the “delivery / location" search functionality.
As detailed above, Personal Information provided will be used to facilitate the wider Smart Shopper program and as such, you will receive communications from Pick n Pay relating to Pick n Pay asap!, Online Shopping as well as Smart Shopper program as per your communication preferences setup on your account profile Every marketing communication sent to you will contain an “unsubscribe” link. Where you have elected to opt out of any direct marketing being sent to you by advising us, such opt out will be recorded by us and We will no longer send direct marketing to you. You can also amend your preferences by contacting our Customer Careline (0860 30 30 30).
All Personal Information will be securely retained and only used to fulfil the purposes listed above. We will take appropriate, reasonable technical and organizational measures to prevent loss of, damage to, or unauthorized destruction and unlawful access to or processing of your personal information. This may include transfer of data outside of South Africa (due to the nature of our technologies being used). Information associated with your account will be kept until your profile is deleted, unless we no longer provide the Service to you.
If you allow notifications, push notifications will be sent to your device. You may always opt out of Push notifications from Us by disallowing them on your app settings or mobile phone settings.
Securing Your Account
You are required to create an 8-character password to secure your account. You are responsible for making this password a strong, complex and unique one as well as to keep the password private and secure. Do not share this password with anyone. You are responsible for all actions processed through your account. If you suspect its misuse or compromise, you must report it to our Customer Careline (0860 30 30 30) as soon as possible.
The Services do not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. In the case we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our systems.
